The SheTrades Outlook Validation Workshop, held on March 8, 2024, at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad, marked a significant stride towards making trade policies more gender responsive. Organized by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and FCDO UK, in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the workshop presented and validated the results of the SheTrades Outlook initiative based on data collected from 25 public and private sector institutions. Breakout group discussions during workshop, focused on specific challenges faced by Pakistani women in business and trade, policy actions to address these challenges, interventions to be included in the future women’s entrepreneurship policies, and the roles of key institutions in undertaking these actions. The workshop endorsed TDAP’s commitment to empowering women in trade, as it spearheaded efforts to convene diverse voices and catalyze actionable solutions to foster an inclusive ecosystem that empowers women entrepreneurs and promotes gender equality in trade.
